be found in Prajmar, a village close to Brasov.
with six other similar churches (such as Biertan, shown here), as a
recognition of the unique architectural style applied, it was recently
included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The fortifications were originally built
during the 13th century by the Order of Teuton Knights. One of the
unique features of the fortifications is that each family had its
own house within the walls, which was allowed to be used only in
times of danger and only by the owners.
